Fedora Flock 2026

Fedora Flock - Prague, 2026
The Fedora Project Conference, known as Flock, was held this year in Prague, Czech Republic, from June 14 - 16.
Flock is the Fedora Project's annual contributor-focused conference. It typically alternates between European and North American locations. The conference provides a venue for face-to-face meetings and conversations. It is also a place to celebrate our community. At Flock, we communicate the Fedora strategy, make connections that lead to action, and celebrate our successes and our community.
In attendance for the Rocky team was Wale Soyinka, Sherif Nagy, Micahel Young, and Leigh Hennig. Held at the OREA Hotel Andel's, the conference was conveniently located close to vibrant shops, restaurants, and within easy reach of Prague's Old Town and so much gorgeous Rennaisance architecture.
We heard from Fedora contributors and community leaders on such talks as Fedora's future with Forgejo, Fedora Atomic with bootc, the "State of Fedora" address, post-quantum cryptogoraphy, the European Union's new Cyber Resilliency Act, and more. (If you missed any of the panels or talks, Fedora conveniently posts them to their Youtube channel.) Each day was also held a mentor summit lunch and learn, where people could connect with different members of the team to discuss various topics including infrastructure, release engineering, documentation, operations, marketing, AI, governance, and others relevant to the project and open source in general.
There was also held the International Candy Swap, a tradition since 2015 where 'contributors gather to share small pieces of where we come from in our various journeys around the world.' Informal moments over coffee, lunch, and dinner gave us fantastic opportunities to connect with each other and community members we'd often spoken with in Matrix or other online forums but had yet to put faces to names. The official party was held at Manifesto, Culture Zone, and really tied everyone together socially over dinner and allowed for a relaxed atmosphere of engagement and discussion.
While plenty of time was spent mixing with the community, we also made sure to set aside time for ourselves, taking a scenic stroll across the Charles Bridge for dinner in Old Town.

We took away a lot of great information, made notes on important items to follow-up on, and connected with friends both new and old. This year's Flock was a resounding success (be sure to have a look at the event album), and the entire Rocky Linux team is proud to have been sponsors. We're grateful for all of the incredibly hard work and dedication that volunteers and project members put into making this such a joy to attend, and we look forward to meeting with the community next year.
